Hideo Kojima Clarifies His Role In The Death Stranding Movie Adaptation

In December 2022, Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions officially announced that a live-action Death Stranding movie adaptation is in development. Now, Kojima himself has finally clarified what his role and involvement in the upcoming Death Stranding movie will be.

Kojima posted on Twitter:

Just to be clear, I am deeply involved in producing, supervising, plotting, look, design and content of the film adaptation of DS, just not in charge of directing.

However, he did not reveal who the director of the Death Stranding movie will be. The cast of the movie also remains unannounced at the time of writing.

The film is fully financed by Hammerstone and will be produced by Kojima and Lebovici, with Kojima Productions US and Allan Ungar serving as executive producers. The Death Stranding movie will introduce new elements and characters within the Death Stranding universe.

Lebovici’s Hammerstone Studios has financed, developed and produced independent films across all genres, including the 20th Century Studios horror film Barbarian and Bill & Ted Face The Music.
