A Month After Street Fighter 6’s Release, We Have A Tier List From A Pro

Street Fighter 6 has been out for a month, so it’s unlikely that we’ll be getting a concrete tier list on who the best and worst characters are in the game. Leave it to high-level tournament player Haitani to get busy with his findings.

The pro player has mastered all 18 characters, playing them all online and getting them to Master Rank in the game’s battle hub. Without further ado, here they are:

S Tier – Cammy, Ken, Dee Jay

It’s like as if Cammy from Street Fighter 5 never left. In all seriousness, Cammy and Ken’s rushdown game and toolset are just better than everyone else’s in the game. Drive Rush combos just makes them more dangerous.

Dee Jay’s mixups and tricks aren’t just gimmicks; they can help make you deal more damage moreso than his previous counterparts in past SF titles. He’s not a joke character anymore; he’s the real deal who comes with a darn good forward jumping knee attack, a slide with low profile and crazy hitbox, an anti-air that doubles as a crossup tool, and super-fast and long-reaching Drive Rush attacks and Drive Impacts.

A Tier – Luke, Juri, JP, Manon, Chun-Li

The poster child for SF6 -Luke- is the best “traditional” shoto in the game coupled with great conversions and footsies. Juri has great pokes, good damage especially with her fast overhead Drive Rush staple, and is pretty fast on her feet.

JP’s zoning game is currently the best in the business, while Manon’s momentum grappler mechanic complements her range of footsies and reach. She may not have plus frame moves (unless you use Drive Rush), but she’s still dangerous especially if you get carelessly grappled and contribute to her Medal levels.

B Tier – Guile, Blanka, Jamie, E.Honda, Kimberly, Marisa

These characters are still solid picks and have their own tricks of the trade to get ahead, like Blanka’s rolling attack and command grab. But once players know the matchup and what unsafe moves they have, they can counterattack everything with ease. The exception is Guile; it’s hard to poke holes at his defensive game.

C Tier – Dhalsim, Ryu, Zangief, Lily

These characters are lacking tools that get them the edge over their B-Tier and A-Tier counterparts. You need to make good reads and work a little harder than usual to get ahead with the likes of Ryu and Lily here. After all, why play Ryu when Ken and Luke are superior choices?

Street Fighter 6 is out right now for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, and Xbox One.
