Diablo 4 Season of the Malignant DLC Arrives 20th July

Blizzard have revealed a new update to their smash-hit, titled “Season of The Malignant”. As we previously covered, there were plans to expand Diablo 4 via updates, and now this first update is set for release on July 20th, with a future update giving more details to be released on 18th July.

This new update showcases new enemies to go against named Malignant Monsters, alongside a new questline. You will follow Cormond, a former priest of the Cathedral of Light, who helps to train you to turn the Malignant Hearts that fuels these monsters into build-altering abilities and powers.

Season of the Malignant, begins a new feature within Diablo 4 called Seasons. Every Season, you need to make a new character on the seasonal realm and must have completed the campaign on either the Eternal or Seasonal Realm with one character at least. Once the Season is over (it’s usually lasts 3 months or so), any progress you made with your new character and the character itself will be transferred to the Eternal Realm, along with whatever items and so on that you got! Only season-specific items such as Malignant Hearts and so on would not be accessible.

During the Season, your progress will net you rewards from the Season Journey and Battle Pass, with different chapters to complete throughout giving you big rewards such as Favor, new Legendary Aspects, a Mastery Title and a Scroll of Amnesia, which is a tool that allows you to completely reset both your Paragon Board and Skill Tree. For the best rewards, you can upgrade to the Premium Battle Pass, including extra cosmetics, armour and equipment.
