EA and PopCap have confirmed that Plants vs. Zombies 3: Welcome to Zomburbia will be getting a global release sometime this year, with the game already soft-launched for mobile in select regions.
Announced on the EA official website, Plants vs. Zombies 3 has soft-launched in the United Kingdom, Netherlands, Australia, Philippines, and the Republic of Ireland, with more countries coming at a later date.
Plants vs. Zombies 3: Welcome to Zomburbia is the next instalment in the popular Plants vs. Zombies series, offering players a fresh and thrilling experience. The game will feature classic lane-based tower defense gameplay with the same returning characters and even a new cast.
“Dig into the world of Neighborville with the return of classic lane-based tower defense gameplay and a memorable cast of new and returning characters. PvZ3 is a story-driven, episodic experience that expands on the world of Plants vs. Zombies, calling back to the classic combat of the first game!”
In each chapter, players will be faced with tower defense challenges that are inspired by the combat gameplay of Plants vs Zombies. However, these new challenges will incorporate refreshed puzzle-adventure elements to provide an even more engaging experience.
To advance through the game, players must analyze the battlefield and devise effective strategies to deploy their plants and eradicate enemy waves. The objective is to use strategic planning and problem-solving skills to overcome the challenges encountered and progress through the game.
For those who grew up playing Plants vs Zombies, the upcoming release will undoubtedly evoke a wave of nostalgia. However, it appears that the long-anticipated game is not only carrying over the beloved elements from its predecessors but also introducing some fresh new ideas.
Plants vs. Zombies 3: Welcome to Zomburbia is coming to iOS and Android devices later this year.
