Everything You Need To Know About Split 1 Playoffs Apex Legends Global Series 2024
By Xandria MordenVerified|May 2, 2024|0 Comment
The Apex Legends Global Series is back! 40 teams from 6 different regions have already been determined and will face off against each other in Galen Center, Los Angeles this weekend from 2nd to 5th May.
The teams will be fighting for a slice of a 1 Million USD prize pool, and most importantly, being crowned as the Champion.
North America continues its dominance and occupies 12 of the slots. APAC North and South send 8 teams over respectively. The South American region had no Pro League this year but will send 2 teams who competed through the challenger circuit. Then we have the last 2 remaining teams from China who were invited directly by ALGS.
Below we have the full list of teams who will fight this weekend:
The 40 teams are split into 4 groups, with 10 members in each group. Each group will compete in a six match series to advance into a bracket stage.
After the Group Stages on the 2nd and 3rd of May, the competition will then proceed with the Bracket Stages. The Bracket Stages consists of 3 rounds, the Elimination Round One, Winners Bracket, and Elimination Round Two. This takes place on the 4th of May. Team performances on the 3rd of May will determine their placement in the bracket.
The event comes to a close on the 5th of May with Match Point Finals, where the top 20 teams will battle to hit 50 points and win their next game to be crowned the Champion.
2024 started out with a shocking amount of roster changes. Popular fan favourite teams like Faze and XSET failed to qualify to the Split 1 Playoffs. The rivalry between DarkZero and TSM continues. Will either of these teams be crowned Champions once again? Luminosity Gaming is also a team to look out for, since signing their new team, which includes Sweet, former NRG who is one of the best IGLs in the scene.
Team Liquid is one of the most consistent teams from since they started competing. Will they finally raise the trophy this time? I’ll be keeping an eye out on Legends Gaming (former BLVKHVND), a strong team from Southeast Asia. Unfortunately, mouse and keyboard fragger EzFlashKIDZ will not be making it this LAN due to personal issues. In his place, Koyful, former XSET will be stepping in to maybe take the team to victory.
Stay tuned for match results as we will keep updating you throughout the weekend!
