Here’s Your First Look At The Lord Of The Rings Anime, Slated For Late 2024
The trio of Warner Bros. Animation, New Line Cinema, and Sola Entertainment have teamed up to release a new The Lord of the Rings anime film, with its first preview made available to watch during the Annecy Animation Festival.
The 20-minute preview of the anime shows off a lot of lore set 200 years before Bilbo Baggins went on his adventure and got the ring of power. The anime centers on the House of Helm Hammerhand, the King of Rohan, and his daughter Princess Héra. The film is narrated by Miranda Otto, who was in the Peter Jackson LOTR films as Éowyn.
The film is directed by Kenji Kamiyama, who is known for his work on anime like Blade Runner: Black Lotus and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. Production house Sola Entertainment is known for the Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 series, so we are definitely in for a visual treat.
