The Until Dawn Movie Has Its Stars & Director
Supermassive-developed horror adventure game Until Dawn, which is already a hugely cinematic movie-like experience that feels like a huge upgrade of 90s movie-like adventure games but with more Quick Time Events, is getting a movie adaptation. Crazy, I know.
The upcoming adaptation has its list of rising stars and director for the project, courtesy of Screen Gems and PlayStation Productions (via Deadline). Here’s the list:
- The actors for the upcoming adaptation so far are Ella Rubin (The Idea of You), Michael Cimino (Love, Victor), Ji-young Yoo (Expats, Smoking Tigers), and Odessa A’zion (Sitting in Bars with Cake).
- David F. Sanberg will be directing the film. He is known for both Shazam! films.
Here’s a quote from PlayStation Productions about the new casting and hires:
“At PlayStation Productions, we are always looking to find creative and authentic ways to adapt our beloved games that our fans will enjoy. Alongside Screen Gems, we’ve assembled a fantastic cast of new characters that builds upon our already stellar filmmaking team and their vision for the adaptation. We’re excited to reveal more about the movie soon.”
The upcoming film is described to be R-rated and is a love letter to the horror genre. In fact, there’s an Until Dawn remaster coming out later this year (Fall 2024); trailer’s below if you’re interested in re-purchasing another remaster from PlayStation.
