Creepy Nosferatu Trailer Teases Remake Of Legendary Vampire Movie From A Hundred Years Ago
The first trailer for Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu movie has been unveiled and it looks terrifying.
Bill Skarsgård (best known for playing Pennywise The Clown in Stephen King’s IT movies) is playing the vampire Nosferatu AKA Count Orlok in Nosferatu.
The synopsis reads:
“Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu is a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman in 19th century Germany and the ancient Transylvanian vampire who stalks her, bringing untold horror with him.”
The movie will also star Willem Dafoe, Nicholas Hoult, Emma Corrin and Lily-Rose Depp alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Simon McBurney and Ralph Ineson.
Eggers (The Witch, The Northman) directs and he wrote the script. Eggers also serves as a producer alongside Chris Columbus, Eleanor Columbus, Jeff Robinov, and John Graham.
The original Nosferatu movie premiered more than a century ago (yes, one hundred years ago) in 1922 by director F.W. Murnau. It has since been widely regarded as one of the most influential and legendary vampire horror movies ever made. Interestingly, it was actually an unofficial and almost illegal movie adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula novel.
The original 1922 silent movie followed the vampire Count Orlok, who wants to buy a house in Germany and becomes enamoured with the real-estate agent’s wife.
Nosferatu will premiere in December 2024.
