All Nippon Airways (ANA) Just Released The First-Ever Pokémon-Filled In-Flight Safety Video

In-flight videos can be dry at times, though airlines such as Air New Zealand and Delta have spiced their own mandatory videos with Lord of the Rings and 80s throwbacks. We can now add All Nippon Airways (ANA) in the list of “most engaging in-flight safety video” with the company’s latest effort.

Teaming up with Pokémon Company, ANA has published the first-ever Pokémon-filled in-flight safety and disembarkation videos. The videos, which you can see below, feature iconic Pokémon such as Pikachu, Psyduck, Jigglypuff, and a Machamp who can somehow fit in an Economy Class seat. Accompanying both videos are iconic tracks from the series.

Here’s the official quote from ANA’s press release:

“With this collaboration, we aim to provide excitement to our customers and provide an in-flight safety video that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.”

These videos will be played on both the Pikachu Jet NH and Eevee Jet NH aircraft. While this collaboration between ANA and Pokémon Company have lasted for 20+ years, this is the first time the latter has let ANA use its Pokémon in these kinds of mandatory videos.

On a related note, Japan’s major airports aren’t the only place where you can get Pokémon merchandise. If you’re in Singapore, you can head down over to Jewel Changi Airport/Mall to buy aviation-themed Pokémon merchandise.
