Max Malaysia Domain Page Is Live, Potentially Imminent Launch To Replace HBO GO

It seems like Max Malaysia will probably be launching sooner than expected to replace the current existing streaming service, HBO GO.

Last week, The Hollywood Reporter reported that the president of APAC for Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) James Gibbons announced that Max will be launching in Southeast Asia, Taiwan and Hong Kong, by the end of 2024.

Now, it looks like we might be getting Max sooner, rather than later, because the official domain page for Max Malaysia is already up and running at this link.

Of course, there’s no content there yet and you can’t actually subscribe yet, but the page does mention this:

Max is Coming Soon
Please watch this space for more details.

Max, originally known as HBO Max, initially launched in the US back in 2020, before slowly and gradually expanding to other markets. In Southeast Asia, the regional streaming service uses the HBO GO platform.

However, at the time of writing, there is no official release date for Max Malaysia yet.

We’ll be updating with more news on Max Malaysia in the coming weeks and months, so stay tuned on Kakuchopurei!

In the meantime, head on over here to check out our picks and highlights on what to watch on HBO GO in October 2024.
