Helldivers 2’s Latest Update Brings Mind-Controlled Aliens & A Four-Person Vehicle

Helldivers 2 is dropping its biggest update yet tonight, bringing a fresh alien faction and a highly anticipated four-person vehicle. Meet the Illuminates, a new extraterrestrial threat set to invade Super Earth.

These mind-controlling invaders join the ranks of the Terminids and Automatons in the “Omens of Tyranny” update. Inspired by sci-fi classics like War of the Worlds, the Illuminates pilot flying saucers and controlling an army of brainwashed civilians known as “The Voteless.” The name is a jab from Super Earth, reflecting their loss of voting rights in the managed democracy.

But that’s not all! The update also introduces a four-person recon vehicle, like a Jeep, which you’ll use to navigate new urban environments. These concrete jungles are ideal for cruising, though keeping the vehicle on all four wheels could be a challenge.

Additionally, new urban areas await, and after completing a certain Major Order, you’ll unlock that shiny new vehicle as a Stratagem.
