Street Fighter Live Action E.Honda Actor Has Died

Sad news for fans of the kitschy Street Fighter live-action film in 1994.

Peter “Navy” Tuiasosopo, the ex-professional football player and actor who played E.Honda in the film, has passed away due to heart complications (via TMZ) on 10 February 2025. He was 61.

Next to Street Fighter, Peter has acted in a slew of other films and TV shows such as New Girl, The Young and the Restless, NCIS, and The Fast & The Furious.

News of his passing was confirmed by his son Manoah Peter Tuiasosopo via Facebook.

“With a heavy heart, my family and I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers.

Our father Peter N. Tuiasosopo passed away this morning at 3:16am.

My dad lived an amazing life and in no way does his impact stop here. We will continue to live with him in spirit, and as saddened as we are, he is without a doubt in Heaven with his brothers, sisters, parents, daughter, and Jesus, and no longer in pain. His strength, love, compassion, and kindness will forever be felt.”

Actress Ming-Na Wen (who played Chun-Li in the film) and the official Street Fighter X account are among the many who paid tribute to the late actor.

Sumo will indeed be number one, especially for a Honda main like myself back in the Super Turbo days. You will be missed, Peter!
