2025 BAFTA Games Awards: The Usual Suspects & Strange Surprises
Four months into the new year and we’re still handing out trophies for last year’s homework. Yes, it’s awards season again—just when you thought you were safe.
While the Oscars and Grammys might hog the glitz, the 2025 BAFTA Games Awards have taken a more British approach: no fanfare, lots of tea, and 17 categories that left us scratching our heads and wondering if we’ve even heard of half these games. The event finally wrapped up this week, and the results were… well, expected in some corners, and utterly bonkers in others.

So there you have it. The 2024 BAFTA Games Awards—served cold in 2025—was a reminder that the UK still knows how to put on a classy, occasionally chaotic awards show for the industry’s finest. Whether you’re a AAA aficionado or a pixel-art purist, this year’s winners were a mixed bag in the best possible way.
And yes, if your favourite game didn’t win… blame the British.
