Honkai Star Rail & Fate/Stay Night Collaboration Starts This July

In the next few months, HoYoverse’s first collaboration with a popular visual novel-slash-gacha-game goliath.

Honkai Star Rail will be collaborating with Fate/Stay Night [Unlimited Blade Works] starting 11 July. The game event is called Sweet Dreams and the Holy Grail and will feature two 5-star characters from the latter series: Saber and Archer.

Saber is a 5-Star Destruction character using the Wind Element. She’s gone through a bit of a redesign as her skirt in this collaboration is shorter than her usual garment.

Archer is a 5-Star The Hunt character using Quantum element. He looks about the same as his Fate/Stay counterpart.

A bit about the Fate/stay night series: it was a PC visual novel game that came out in 2004 and features an epic fantasy story (and some hentai bits as it was the style of visual novels at the time). The series got so big and was genre-defining that it received sequels, spin-offs, and anime/manga adaptations, as well as a bunch of games or three. The game’s characters even got fighting game roles in anime fighting games back in the day.

So far, the biggest game using the Fate brand is Fate/Grand Order, a free-to-play title that’s making Aniplex a lot of money to this day.
