Persona 5 Scramble Will Continue Plot Of Original

After initially announcing the game in April 2019 earlier this year, Atlus has finally revealed more details and information about the upcoming hack-and-slack action RPG musou game Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers.

According to the official website (translated via Gematsu), Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers will feature a brand new story set after the events of the original JRPG, which means that it will be a sequel of sorts for 2017’s Persona 5.

The reason why the gameplay is so similar to the Dynasty Warriors franchise is because Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers will be a joint collaboration between Atlus’ Persona team and Dynasty Warriors developer Koei Tecmo’s Omega Force.

Players will be able to control not only Joker but also all members of the Phantom Thieves (with the exception of Futaba). The official description for the game from the official website reads (translated via Gematsu):

Half-a-year after the ending of Persona 5, the Phantom Thieves of Hearts get together for summer vacation, but get wrapped up in a new incident.

Mystery cases are occurring all over Japan.

Palaces, the cognitive worlds of warped adults, have returned?

Donning their disguises once again, the Phantom Theives set out to resolve this new incident…

Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers is slated to release for the PS4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan on 20 February 2020, with no confirmation for an official localized international version as of yet.

The standard edition will be priced at 8800 yen (or RM339+), while the Treasure Box edition will cost 13,800 yen (or RM531+) and contain the following additional items:

  • A copy of the game
  • Newly-illustrated special box
  • Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers art book (48 pages)
  • Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers original soundtrack (45 tracks)
  • Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers theme song “You Are Stronger” (lyrics by Lotus Juice, vocals by Lyn) making-of Blu-ray disc
  • Morgana towel (350mm x 900mm)
  • Persona Team original design sacoche
