She-Ra Season 5 Trailer Teases An Epic & Dark Series Finale

Netflix debuted the new She-Ra And The Princesses of Power animated series only two years ago in 2018, and it’s already about to receive its fifth and final season. The official trailer has finally arrived ahead of its upcoming 15 May 2020 premiere on Netflix.

Signs are pointing towards an emotional and dramatic series finale for fans, especially if that melancholic cover of the show’s opening theme featured in the trailer is any indication. Speaking with EW, showrunner Noelle Stevenson teases the darkest season of She-Ra And The Princesses of Power yet.

She said:

“Horde Prime has no space in his empire for individuality; everything needs to be a reflection of his own ego.

Characters like Glimmer and Catra, who have been striving for self-individuation this whole time, to be told that ‘you’re both cogs in this machine and will be used to flatten the universe and make everything uniform,’

I think that’s the most horrifying thing they’ve been confronted with.”

Speaking of that haunting rendition of the She-Ra theme song ‘Warriors’, it’s performed by none other than AJ Michalka herself, who voices Catra in the show. That song will be available to stream on Spotify as part of the series soundtrack that will become available on 8 May 2020.

She-Ra And The Princesses of Power is currently one of the best animated or non-animated show on Netflix, so it’s a shame to see it ending so soon. Still, all good things come to an end. Let’s hope that it’s a good one.

In the meantime, check out the trailer below.
