Valorant Nerfs Sage & Killjoy In Latest Update

Riot Games has released the patch notes for Valorant update 1.07 and there are a lot of major changes in the latest patch, including nerfing both Sage and Killjoy, while buffing Breach.

Changes made to Sage are:

  • Her healing power now recovers 60 HP in 5 seconds as opposed to 100 HP earlier. The same goes for her self heal which now recovers 60 HP as well over 10 seconds.
  • Devs have reduced her slow orb ability radius by as much as 30%.
  • On the upside, her barrier orb ability now costs 300, instead of 400.

Since Sage is the only healer, nerfing her will impact the gameplay, more so in competitive esports and ranked play.

Killjoy has also been nerfed, with her Nanoswarm ability now having a brief windup before damage starts, and the damage per second has been reduced from 60 to 40. Her turret is also no longer revealed by recon bolts.

Two character that have been buffed are Breach and Viper. Breach now has three charges of his flash, which also has a reduced wind up time, and his Rolling Thunder ability has also been buffed slightly, while Concussion will now descope players.

Meanwhile, Viper can now plant her toxic screen during the buy phase and through the spawn barriers. The screen rises faster too, and her smoke ability does not decay allies anymore. In addition to this, Viper’s pit is now visible to teammates on the mini-map.

Valorant Remake Match Feature

The Valorant 1.07 update also introduces the Remake feature, where players will now have the option to end the game they’re in and queue for a new one when a match begins with a 4v5 (or more lopsided teams).

If any player is disconnected at the start of the match (beginning of buy phase) through the entire first round, a remake call may be triggered at the start of the second round by typing /remake in chat.

All connected players on the team that called the remake may vote to remake the game. It’s required that all connected players agree to remake the game.

The remake vote will last for the duration of the buy phase, if the vote is not passed by the end of buy phase it will expire. If the vote is successfully passed and the game is remade, all players who voted do not receive any XP or MMR adjustments for the match.

The match will also not show up in match history. All disconnected players not part of the vote will take a full MMR loss for the game, and receive a leaver penalty equivalent to disconnecting from a full match.
