Mortal Kombat Movie Trailer Debuts Tomorrow; Boasts Slick-Looking Cast
“Get over here!” The battle cry of Mortal Kombat rings loud and proud as the upcoming 2021 film adaptation is slated for theaters(?) and HBO Max’s streaming service on 16th April. As such, we’ll be getting a taste of the action via a movie trailer tomorrow at 19th February 1am GMT+8.
To drum up the hype, the Mortal Kombat Movie Twitter page has unleashed a bunch of cast photos in all their MK glory. I’d like to see the iconic ninjas Scorpion and Sub-Zero in their full motion glory; the rest of the cast looks pretty ace.

The last Mortal Kombat film we’ve seen is Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge. It’s basically Scorpion’s origin story and the first game’s plot rolled into an ultraviolent animated cartoon. A very satisfying one at that, if I’m being frank. I hope the 16th April live-action film does the series justice. At the very least, this martial arts-laden cast is going to provide the R-rated action that MK fans want.
