Bowsette Watch: From Porn Sites Search Result Numbers To Nintendo’s Official Stance
As previously reported a few days ago, the Bowsette phenomenon took off thanks to an innocuous tweet from Malaysian artist ayyk92. Given the sensual nature of the new character, Bowsette is no stranger to sites like Pornhub.
…Bowsette searches on the site went from zero to 500,000 within 3 days, according to the site. From 26 September onwards, the numbers shot up exponentially. Here’s an official quote from the Pornhub blog:
Bowsette searches … appeared first on 23 September and then grew exponentially. On September 26, 323,179 people searched for ‘Bowsette’ on Pornhub.
For folks who swing the pure reptilian way, classic Bowser searches also went up.
While a few hundred people were already searching for ‘Bowser’ on a daily basis, his searches reached as high as 51,882 on 26 September. The dynamic duo shelled out over 500,000 Pornhub searches in just over 72 hours.
Other sites like YouPorn saw significant Bowsette search growth from 22 to 25 September.
Search results from these two big sites include “bowsette porn”, “bowsette hentai”, “bowsette cosplay”, “girl bowser”, and “hot girl bowser”. No point capitalizing the “b”; humans are lazy that way.
Japanese site J-Cast News reached out to Nintendo of Japan for official word on the recent Bowsette phenomenon. Here’s what they have to say.
Concerning the drawings and other things uploaded to the Internet, we have no comment.
This might be troubling since Nintendo is infamous for sternly protecting its family-friendly licenses. They previously shut down unofficial mods of their games and place cease-and-desist orders to emulator sites. In fact, they recently shut down MariCar, the unofficial Mario Kart tourist attraction in Japan.
But it could mean nothing. We’ll see. For now, the search for hot Bowsette bad girl action continues.Â
