New Ultraman Netflix Trailer Debuts Multiple Ultramen

Netflix has released a new full-length trailer for its upcoming Ultraman CGI series, ahead of its premiere on 1 April 2019. The new anime is actually an adaptation of the Ultraman manga written by Eiichi Shimizu and drawn by Tomohiro Shimoguchi.

The Ultraman Netflix series takes place several years after the events of the original live-action Ultraman series, which ran from 1966 to 1967. A high school student named Shinjiro Hayata inherits his father’s role and abilities as Ultraman and must fight against alien threats.

What’s interesting about the trailer is that it showcases two other people who have the power of Ultraman: Dan Maboroshi and Seiji Hokuto. Their Ultraman suits are inspired by Ultraseven and Ultraman Ace, respectively.
