Blacksad’s Game Is Out And It Looks Like Furry Heaven
By Burhan Zamri|November 14, 2019|0 Comment
Ever heard of the Blacksad comics? They tell the story of a private investigator named John Blacksad. It takes place in 1950s America and has everything you’d expect from a film noir style mystery comic book. Here’s the twist: everyone is an anthropomorphic animal.
[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTHc_TCGrDo&w=560&h=315]Blacksad: Under the Skin is a video game adaptation of the comics. It’s developed by Pendulo Studios who has a track record of making graphic adventure games such as Yesterday Origins and the Runaway series. The game comes out tomorrow 15 November 2019 (for Southeast Asia) and the launch trailer is definitely intriguing, to say the least.
For those of you who know of the comics, the game takes place sometime between Arctic Nation and Red Soul. We’re put in the shoes of the cat detective himself to solve the disappearance of a gorilla boxer named Bobby Yale. The case is particularly morbid due to the fact that Yale’s coach and owner of the boxing club he trains at, Joe Dunn, is found dead on the same day.
If you’ve ever played games like Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us, then you’ll be quite familiar with how this game plays. It’s got dialog options, puzzles, and even QTEs for those life-threatening moments.
Blacksad: Under the Skin launches on 14 November 2019 for PC, macOS, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. You can check out the game’s Steam page here.
