Final Fantasy VII Remake’s Timed Exclusivity Ends In April 2021

PlayStation 4 gamers can look forward to playing Square Enix’s upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake action RPG title later this 10th April. As for other platform users and PC gamers looking forward to a port of the game, you may have to wait a tad longer.

According to an updated box art on the Square Enix website (via Twinfinite), the remake’s timed exclusivity to the PlayStation will end in April 2021. Just like with most Epic Games exclusives, it now has a time limit of one year after its release date.

This basically means that Square Enix may release a PC version of the game (or maybe a Switch or Xbox Series X version as well?) though it won’t be out exactly after the 10th of April next year. Just remember: Final Fantasy XV took a year-and-a-half before it got the ultimate Windows port.

So are you one of those guys with a stern iron will to wait that long for a PC version? I know I’m not: I’m getting the game as soon as it’s out on shelves. Anyway, here’s a trailer to remind you of all the cool stuff that’s happening in the game like a fully-rendered Red XIII and Cloud in drag.
