Steam’s Search Function Gets New Features
Steam has issued an update for its humble search function, allowing users to better tailor the function to their preferences.
Originally part of the experimental Steam Labs initiative, the new features include the ability to narrow displayed games by price, tags, and language. You can also exclude games that you already own or that are VR-only, or choose to only see special offers.
In addition, there’s an infinite scroll to let you scroll through results for eternity. If you’d prefer to click on pages, Steam says that you can switch back to the old paginated view via Store Preferences.
While they don’t sound ground-breaking, these are very welcome changes that make the search experience a lot better. Being somewhat of a cheapskate, I’m especially a fan of the price-narrowing function and the special offers filter.
