You Can Upgrade Your Xbox One Copy Of Cyberpunk 2077 For Free; No Word On PS Version Yet

Are you planning on getting an Xbox Series X to play Cyberpunk 2077? Do you still have your Xbox One around, but don’t wish to buy two copies of Cyberpunk 2077 to play on each different Xbox console? Worry not, CD Projekt and Xbox has you covered.

According to a recent announcement, owners of Cyberpunk 2077 on Xbox One will receive the Xbox Series X upgrade for free when available.

While this sounds nice, it is a vague tweet. It’s not confirmed yet whether this is the backwards compatible version of Cyberpunk 2077 on current-gen consoles or a next-gen port.

On the other side of the fence, there’s no word on whether PlayStation will give a free PS5 upgrade for the PS4 version of CD Projekt’s RPG. Either way, Cyberpunk 2077 won’t be available for the new next-gen consoles this Holiday 2020. So far, Xbox One owners can now sigh in relief that they don’t need to shell out more money for a next-gen version of the game.
