Battlefield V’s Summer 2020 Major Content Update Will Be Its Last

EA DICE launched the World War II-themed Battlefield V in late 2018, but now the latest FPS game by the studio will be receiving its final major content update in June 2020. Meanwhile, its current chapter, Into The Jungle (based on the Pacific Theater of World War II), is set to end later this month on 29 April 2020.

This was confirmed via an official blog post and a reply by the official Twitter account for Battlefield V, which you can check out below.

Battlefield V‘s June 2020 update will be a standalone update with “some new content, weapons, and game tweaks”. Going forward, the game will only be supported with new Weekly Missions but “otherwise have no further content planned beyond our updates to Community Games and ensuring healthy game performance”.

This seems like a weird choice, considering that EA DICE isn’t planning to release a Battlefield game in 2020. However, it is also highly likely that they’re gearing up for next-gen consoles instead.
