Final Fantasy VII Remake Save Editor Lets You Play As Red XIII
Good news, Final Fantasy VII Remake fans! You can play as guest character Red XIII, who appears late in the game as a guest character.
The bad news? Well, it’s not official and you’ll need some technical save modding knowhow. After all, Square Enix’s devs said that Red XIII’s inclusion is done late in the game, thus the guest status.
Still, if you’re curious as to how it would work, a fan named Xeeynamo did some “hacking” via an updated version of a Kingdom Hearts III Save Editor he did a while back. You can check it out for yourself below:
Because of his guest status, he cannot have his equipment changed and he only has regular attacks; thus, no skills, Materia, or Limit Breaks. Still, it’s a pretty cool precursor for things to come. Of course Final Fantasy VII Remake is going to have a sequel featuring playable versions of the lab rat doge, Yuffie, Cid Highwind, Vincent Valentine, and Cait Sith. It’s only a matter of time.
