Almost every game in the Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed franchise has its own distinctive and iconic music. I still find myself humming Assassin’s Creed Odyssey‘s epic theme from time to time. As such, fans of the franchise will be happy to learn that the composer of the very first game and the Ezio Trilogy will be returning for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

According to the German version of Ubisoft’s official store page for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Collector’s Edition, three composers will be working on the soundtrack for the upcoming game, including the legendary Jesper Kyd, who (as I mentioned above) was responsible for the original 2007 game and the entire Ezio Trilogy, consisting of 2009’s Assassin’s Creed II, 2010’s Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, and 2011’s Assassin’s Creed Revelations.

It’s been a while since Kyd last composed for an Assassin’s Creed title, but he’s been making himself busy with other titles over the years like Forza Motorsport 2, State Of Decay, and most recently, Borderlands 3. Now he’s making his glorious return to the Assassin’s Creed franchise with Valhalla, but he’s not alone.

Joining him are composers Sarah Schachner and Einar Selvik. Schachner previously composed music for 2014’s Assassin’s Creed Unity and 2017’s Assassin’s Creed Origins, while the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be Selvik’s first foray in the franchise. It’s worth pointing out that Selvik is a famous Nordic musician, best known for creating the music and soundtrack featured in the History Channel’s Vikings series with his band, Wardruna.

All three of these composers have incredible talent and experience on their belts, so it’ll be exciting to see the end result when Assassin’s Creed Valhalla launches sometime at the end of 2020 during the Holiday Season for the PS5, Xbox Series X, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia.
