Total War Is Expanding Into The CCG Genre With Elysium
Sega and Creative Assembly are joining the Collectible Card Game (CCG) genre with a game of their own; Total War Elysium. As a long-time fan of the Total War franchise, I never thought there would ever be a Total War card game, but here we are.
Total War Elysium is a free-to-play strategy card game that brings generals from across history together to go head to head in epic strategic showdowns. What distinguishes this from other CCG like Legends Of Runeterra is that players can choose from a wide range of generals, many of whom will be familiar faces from classic Total War games, along with some new faces.
The game is currently in Closed Beta for Android devices, but it is slated to be available for iOS and PC as well at launch. Total War Elysium currently has 300 cards and more than nine Generals as of now.
Despite being developed by a separate team from the mainline Total War titles, Total War Elysium will still share content across titles. Therefore, any new historical Total War game could potentially mean new content in Total War Elysium.
At the time of writing, Total War Elysium is only available in certain regions, but players can sign up for future updates on the official website here.
