The PS5 Backwards Compatibility Dream Is Still On Track
By Alleef Ashaari|June 15, 2020|0 Comment
Sony has been pretty tight-lipped on whether the PS5 will have full or partial backwards compatibility for previous generations. However, the company recently re-iterated that they’re hard at work trying to ensure as many as 4000 PS4 titles will be playable on the PS5.
Speaking with CNET, Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan said:
“We said that the PS5 has been designed to play PS4 games.
We’re going through the process with the publishers and developers testing that rather exhaustive library of over 4,000 games.
We’re happy with the progress that’s been made.”
However, he doesn’t specify or mention how many of those 4000 PS4 titles will be playable at launch. Still, this is good news for PlayStation fans as a whole. In the meantime, head on over here to check out all our other PS5-related news and feature articles.
