Bandai Namco Partners With Aardman Animations On Cross-Media IP
By Alleef Ashaari|December 3, 2020|0 Comment
Aardman Animations has officially entered an agreement with Bandai Namco on a mysterious brand new IP. The UK-based animation studio is best known for legendary claymation content like Wallace And Gromit, Shaun The Sheep and Chicken Run.
According to GamesIndustry.biz, the collaboration is expected to extend over multiple projects and the first project will “exist across multiple media.”
What that means is that we will probably get a video game and perhaps an animated series or movie alongside it.
The development will start in early 2021, with Aardman and Bandai Namco hoping to “create stories tailored for current and future platforms.”
More details will be announced at a later date.
Aardman managing director Sean Clarke said:
“Interactive Entertainment is a huge growth area within the entertainment world.
With new emerging technology blurring the lines of watching and playing, we are keen to develop strategic partnerships with partners such as Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe that share our vision of creating new IP that embraces this new world and cement our studio’s reputation as a multi-disciplinary creative hub.”
The two companies have previously worked together on 2018’s 11-11: Memories Retold, a narrative-driven interactive game set during World War 1 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
