The League Of Legends Pacific Championship Series (PCS) Returns In 2021
By Alleef Ashaari|December 11, 2020|0 Comment
Riot Games Southeast Asia, Carry Live Co., and Garena have announced the return of the Pacific Championship Series (PCS) presented by CTBC for the 2021 season, commencing on 5 February 2021.
The second season of this cross-regional league will feature teams from the inaugural season and one newly qualified team competing at the highest levels of play.
Recently returning from Worlds 2020, both PSG Talon and Machi Esports represented the region’s talent during the group stages.
Talon Esports CEO Sean Zhang said:
“Both our organizations PSG and Talon are super excited for what’s ahead with the 2021 Pacific Championship Series.
We have been working very hard during the offseason to ensure that we are in the best possible position to better everything we did last season.
We don’t aim to rest. This region has incredibly talented players, passionate fans, and a dynamic competitive ecosystem – all of which we aim to showcase further.
We can’t  wait for the new season to start and to continue crushing our opponents with our fans’ support!â€Â
Machi Esports owner Jeffrey Huang said:
“As a team, we had an incredible 2020 in the PCS and are proud of making it to Worlds this year.
Although our performance didn’t get us out of groups, the hard work put in by the team when training during the offseason will be showcased in the 2021 Pacific Championship Series.Â
We’re looking forward to playing against old rivals, as well as facing new ones, with newly promoted teams joining the league next year.”Â
With the vision of taking the level of competition to new heights across Southeast Asia, Taiwan, and Hong Kong and creating engaging experiences for fans, Riot Games Southeast Asia has appointed Carry Live Co. as co-organizers and operators of the 2021 season of the PCS.
As co-organizers and operators of PCS 2021, Riot Games Southeast Asia and Carry Live Co. are committed to all its partnerships across the region with the support of Garena, the publisher of League Of Legends in Southeast Asia, Taiwan and Hong Kong, and CTBC, the league’s official presenting sponsor.Â
Riot Games Southeast Asia, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau Head Of Esports Chris Tan said:
“Since its conception last year, the Pacific Championship Series has made its mark on the global League of Legends esports scene, with teams like PSG Talon and Machi Esports making it to the group stages at this year’s Worlds 2020.
The teams have proven their dedication to achieving success in the league, and we’re thrilled to announce the return of PCS for Season 2021 with our new partner Carry Live Co.
In partnership with Garena and Carry Live Co., we look forward to bringing yet another exciting year of League esports to fans across the region.â€Â
