Final Fantasy XVI Will Be Action-Oriented & Feature Story-Focused Mode
By Alleef Ashaari|February 23, 2021|0 Comment
Final Fantasy XVI producer Naoki Yoshida appeared during the “Game Hack†corner on the latest episode of Tokyo FM radio show One Morning in Japan recently. He revealed several new details about the highly-anticipated Final Fantasy XVI.
According to Yoshida (via Games Talk and translated by Gematsu), Final Fantasy XVIÂ will be “action-oriented” but feature both story and action elements. However, players who aren’t good at action games can still enjoy the game’s story in a special mode that will probably provide an easier difficulty. Yoshida noted that the gameplay will be smooth and easy to get the hang of.
He said:
We really want players to enjoy the story, so we’re preparing a mode for players who want to focus on story.
Since we have quite the substantial support actions, we’re of course preparing something easy to operate and smooth to play. Don’t worry too much (players who aren’t good at action games.)
I’m from the generation that has been playing the Final Fantasy series from the first game in real-time, I’m almost in my 50s.
I think the Warriors of Light have grown up in their own worlds, so I want to create a world of Final Fantasy that those who know the good and bad of reality can also be passionate about.
I believe there are certain hardships that are experienced when becoming an adult, so I want to make the main theme of this game something that those who grew up playing Final Fantasy and understand reality can still enjoy, get something out of, and think about.
Final Fantasy XVI is slated to launch for the PS5. Late last year, we learned more about the deep lore and several of the main characters in the game, which you can check out here.
The next major announcement for the game will arrive sometime in 2021.
