Here’s Why We’ve Seen the Last of Cara Dune in Star Wars
Disney has fired Gina Carano from all of Star Wars after The Mandalorian star posted a controversial social media post on Instagram comparing Republicans with the Jews during the Holocaust.
In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, a Lucasfilm spokesperson said:
“Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future.
Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.”
The news comes after a day in which the hashtag #FireGinaCarano trended on Twitter for several hours. Carano’s anti-semitic post has since been deleted, but some users managed to save it and reshared them on social media:

Carano’s Cara Dune was originally assumed to be playing a role in the upcoming Star Wars series Rangers Of The New Republic, but now that will no longer be happening. Cara Dune isn’t exactly a major character, but Disney can always recast the role if they want to keep using the character in future Star Wars properties.
Also, it looks like all those Cara Dune merchandise and toys will now be sort of limited editions.
