Call Of Duty 2021 Is In Development By Sledgehammer Games

After rumours circulated earlier this year, Activision has finally confirmed in its latest quarterly earnings report (via GameSpot) that Call Of Duty 2021 is being developed by Sledgehammer Games, the same studio behind 2017’s Call Of Duty WW2 and 2014’s Call Of Duty Advanced Warfare.

Activision president and COO Dan Alegre said:

“We are very excited for this year’s premium Call Of Duty release.

Development is being led by Sledgehammer Games.

The game is looking great and on track for its Fall [2021] release.”

The next Call Of Duty game is confirmed to be released sometime in fall 2021, and that it will feature a single-player mode, a multiplayer mode and a co-op component of some sort. They also said that it is “built for next-gen”, but stopped short of saying whether or not it will be coming out on last-gen consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One.

Another important bit of information is that the new game is also built to “integrate with and enhance” Call Of Duty Warzone. It will likely be similar to how it currently works with Call Of Duty Black Ops Cold War.

Coinciding with these new details, the official Sledgehammer Games Twitter account also posted a cheeky tweet to acknowledge the fact that it’s now officially known that they’re making the next Call Of Duty game:
