The Next Fable Game Will Use The Forza Engine
Xbox’s next big in-house role-playing game will be using the same engine that’s powering its key racing games, according to a new job listing.
The latest Microsoft job listing is concerning a software engineer position at Turn 10 Studios (the makers of the Forza games), who will be responsible for implementing new features in the ForzaTech engine, with one of them being ray tracing.
“In addition to adding new features like raytracing to support the next console generation, we are also enriching the toolset to support an open world action RPG – Fable. [The successful applicant will have] a major impact on 3 AAA titles in development.”
ForzaTech has been used mostly for the Forza Horizon and Forza Motorsports games. We’re guessing the open worlds in the former series will be used to power up the upcoming Fable sequel, though it will take a lot of work. The listing also confirms that it’ll be a while until we see more news or even gameplay footage of the next Fable.
