Former Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Expansion Will Become Standalone Game; Set For 2023

Despite some troubles, Ubisoft is still running the open-world Assassin’s Creed gravy train.

Ubisoft is reportedly planning to release a smaller-scale stealth-focused AC title later -codenamed Rift– in 2023 according to a Bloomberg report. The game was planned to be an expansion for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and stars Basim, but it’s now spun into a standalone title.

The upcoming AC title won’t be a large open-world RPG, but a smaller scope title that focuses on stealth gameplay. Assassin’s Rift Rift will be out before the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Infinity, the mass multiplayer AC game that’s slated for lord-knows-when. AC Rift will be out either at the end of 2022 or in 2023.

In the meantime, players can look forward to the AC Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok DLC this March.
