A Third Sonic The Hedgehog Movie & Cinematic Universe Are Confirmed

2022 and beyond may seem like the year of Sonic The Hedgehog.

With the second Sonic The Hedgehog movie coming out this April, it’s only a matter of time until Paramount producers start revealing plans for a Sonic Cinematic Universe. Lo and behold, we were right! Producer Toby Ascher who worked on Sonic The Hedgehog and Sonic The Hedgehog 2 said that Paramount has plans for not just a Sonic cinematic universe, but also a third Sonic film and possibly a Tails solo movie. That last one is unconfirmed as of now, but there’s news developing on that (via Giant Freakin Robot).

“We’re creating a Sonic cinematic universe, so we knew we were going to add characters, like Tails and Knuckles; new to the films but beloved by gamers all over the world.”

A Knuckles live-action TV series is also in the works via Paramount+, and will have Idris Elba reprise his role as Knuckles the echidna.
