Bethesda To Launch Online-Only QuakeCon 2022 This August
Good news: QuakeCon is coming back this year. Even better news for Southeast Asian fans: it’s going to be online in 2022.
That’s right: this year’s QuakeCon is once again going digital-only for the third time if we’re keeping score. The dates? 18th to 20th August.
The show will go physical in 2023. Here’s the official statement from Bethesda:
“This year’s QuakeCon will once again be a digital-only event, August 18-20, 2022. Like you, we’re disappointed to not return to Dallas this year. An event of this size requires months of planning, and in this case, we had to make decisions when there was still too much uncertainty to commit to successfully executing an in-person QuakeCon.”

While it sucks that some events can’t be offline post-COVID 19, and even then the virus is still lingering and affecting people, there is a silver lining to this. You won’t have to fly down to the US and pay extravagant air fare to check out QuakeCon; you’ll catch everything online and on Bethesda’s YouTube/Twitch channels. You may want to mark those August dates: Bethesda, Arkane, and id Software will have tons to announce and showcase, including Starfield, Redfall, and that Quake project that’s been in the rumour mill.
