Splatoon 3 Paints Its Way Onto Nintendo Switch This September
There’s a good reason why Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is pushed forward to July instead of lingering in September; because another major Nintendo title is on the way this year.
Splatoon 3, the upcoming multiplayer online shooter with painting mechanics, nifty single-player elements, kids who can transform into squids, and squid pop idols hosting matches and asking you to do spy missions, will be coming out for Nintendo Switch this 9th September. The game features online 4v4 turf war battles, a fresh single-player campaign, and the next iteration of the PvE co-op mode Salmon Run. In terms of new weapons, there’s now a paint bow-and-arrow; big paint damage but requires pinpoint accuracy. And there’s an Octo Mecha as one of your Inkling’s special moves: you temporarily pilot an octopus land mecha with boosted firepower.
Nintendo also announced that owners of Splatoon 2 with a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion pack can play the Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion DLC for free. Yeah, it’s the online service that requires a monthly fee if you want to play Nintendo games online with other people. Check out the awesome gameplay trailer below.
