Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II Announced For 28 October
The highly anticipated sequel to 2019’s Modern Warfare reboot finally has a release date set for 28 October late this year.
Last night the official Call of Duty YouTube channel revealed some of the artwork being used to promote Modern Warfare II (MWII). The visuals were stunning, so much so that I mistakenly thought that I was seeing gameplay. In reality, it was an actual shipyard plastered with posters promoting the game and characters.
We saw artwork referencing Captain John Price, John “Soap” MacTavish, Kyle “Gaz” Garrick, Alejandro Vargas and obviously everyone’s favourite, Simon “Ghost” Riley.

As ships were docking, the drone footage captured the ship’s movement in its entirety while also revealing some initial key announcements for the game. At the end of this short one minute video, we were finally provided with a release date set for 28 October.
For those who haven’t heard, this next instalment will be the first to last more than one year as news broke that the intended 2023 title has been postponed. This is because after seeing Call of Duty: Vanguard’s lacklustre performance in Q4 of 2021 they thought it best to postpone Call of Duty 2023 to re-evaluate their strategy.
