Stranger Things, Moon Knight, Squid Game & More Grab Emmy Nominations

The Emmy Awards has announced their nominees for 2022 and this year’s nominations are the most diverse in the a long time, especially since before the COVID-19 pandemic. HBO’s Succession leads the pack with a whopping 25 nominations, followed by Apple TV’s Ted Lasso and HBO’s The White Lotus, both of which snagged 20 nominations each.

That’s followed by HBO’s Hacks and Hulu’s Only Murders In The Building with 17 nominations each, and HBO’s Euphoria with 17 nominations.

However, what’s most interesting is that the Emmy 2022 awards season is also filled with non-traditional genre shows like Netflix’s Stranger Things, Disney+’s Moon Knight, Netflix’s Squid Game, Hulu’s Only Murders In The Building and more. For instance, Moon Knight grabbed eight nominations, which is impressive for what many deems to be simply a “superhero” show for kids. Disney+’s Loki got six nominations, while The Book Of Boba Fett received four.

The 74th Emmy Awards will be broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater on 13 September 2022 at 8am GMT+8 on NBC and will stream live for the first time on the Peacock streaming service.
