New Valkyrie Elysium Trailer Reveals September Release Date & Brand-New Gameplay
Remember when a previous PlayStation State of Play revealed a new Valkyrie Profile action RPG game like a wet fart? Me neither.
Thankfully, Square Enix’s latest trailer highlights the best parts of the game: the fighting and action RPG combat. To reiterate what was reported earlier, yes: Valkyrie Elysium will be out for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles on 29 September. The PC version will be out on 11th November.
Valkyrie Elysium features high-speed action RPG combat as you control the Valkyrie as the main character and a bunch of Einherjar (strong warrior spirits) to command around, give tactical bonuses, and infues the Valkyrie with elemental bonuses in an action RPG setting and mechanic. Just like the turn-based RPGs back on the PS1, Valkyrie Elysium has Divine Arts for you to throw around like Valkyrie’s Divine Assault Nibelung Valesti-style spear throw. Check out the trailers and gameplay montage below.
If you get the game’s Digital Deluxe Edition for US$64.99, you’ll get the PS4 and PS5 port of Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth. This new port features a new Rewind, Quick Save, and Visual Presets feature. The game will be a separate purchase on the PS Store eventually, though in Japan it’ll be 2,750 yen (US$28).
