Stranger Things Spinoff Will Not Be About Eleven Or Existing Characters
By Alleef Ashaari|July 6, 2022|0 Comment
Stranger Things Season 4 recently ended but there’s more to the future of the franchise than simply a fifth season down the line. According to Stranger Things creators the Duffer Brothers (via an interview with the duo on the Happy Sad Podcast), Matt Duffer said that they will be passing the baton for the Stranger Things spinoff.
He said:
“The idea, ultimately, is to pass the baton to someone else, someone who’s hopefully really talented and passionate. Even the idea of Ross and I, say, doing a pilot and leaving it, it just feels silly to me. You really need to be there from the beginning to end. I think we need to find a partner to help us with that.”
Matt Duffer also confirmed that the Stranger Things spinoff won’t focus on existing characters like Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven or Gaten Materrazzo’s Dustin. Instead, it will be very different and probably feature new characters but obviously set in the same world and continuity.
He continued:
“I’ve read these rumors that there’s gonna be an Eleven spinoff, that there’s gonna be a Steve and Dustin spinoff or that it’s another number. That’s not interesting to me because we’ve done all that. We’ve spent I don’t know how many hours exploring all of that. So it’s very different.”
However, it might be a while before we actually get the Stranger Things spinoff, or Stranger Things Season 5, for that matter. Major TV shows like these usually take a lot of time and effort to actually come to fruition. In the meantime, check out when Stranger Things came to Malaysia and our review of Stranger Things Season 4 here.
