Pokemon World Championships 2023 To Take Place In Japan
The 2022 Pokemon World Championships has ended, and the Pokemon Company has already announced the location of next year’s event. For the first time in the history of esports, the Pokemon World Championships will take place in Japan in 2023.
The 2022 Pokemon World Championships involved five titles (Pokemon Sword, Pokemon Shield, Pokemon TCG, Pokemon GO and Pokemon Unite) and a new video revealed next year’s location. The video begins with an 8-bit Vermillion City before the unveiling of Yokohama, Japan. For those who don’t know, Vermillion City is actually based on Yokohama, Japan, so this is a treat for fans of the franchise.
This marks the first time that the event will be in Japan. Previous events have all been in the US, with the exception of this year’s event, which took place in London, UK.
