The Joker Movie Sequel Gets A Fall 2024 Release Date

Despite the Batgirl movie being cancelled, Warner Bros. is dead set on getting a Batman character story out in a few years. A sequel of it, in fact.

Todd Phillips’ Joker sequel, titled Joker: Folie à Deux, will be getting a 4 October 2024 release date (via Deadline). Warner Bros. has that day on hold for an untitled DC event film, which is why the upcoming Joker sequel is getting its time in the first weekend of that future October.

The first Joker movie in 2019 was the highest-grossing R-rated movie on a global scale at US$1.07 billion. Furthermore, the film won two Oscars for Best Actor (Joaquin Phoenix) and Original Music Score (Hildur Guðnadóttir). It was also nominated for 11 Oscars including Best Picture and Best Director (Todd Phillips).

As far as we know, the next Joker movie just entered production last December, and that it also stars Lady Gaga as Joker’s future romantic interest Harley Quinn. For more on why the aforementioned Batgirl movie was cancelled, head here.
