The Super Mario Bros. Movie Is An Isekai; Out Next April

Nintendo of America has unveiled the first look at the upcoming Mario Bros. movie. And it looks about as faithful as it can get as a Nintendo film using the plumber’s visage and world.

The trailer features Bowser (Jack Black) in the gruffest voice possible torching down an ice kingdom ruled by penguins.

It then cuts to Mario (Chris Pratt) getting teleported from (presumably) his home into the Mushroom Kingdom, and then welcomed by Toad (Keegan Michael-Key).

We also get a sneak peek of Luigi (Charlie Day) being chased by Dry Bones in presumably World 8 in SMB3.

Our guess? This is an isekai movie where Mario and Luigi get teleported to the Mushroom Kingdom and solve outerworldly problems beyond plumbing. Full trailer below. The film will be out on 7th April.
