Daniel Kaluuya will voice Spider-Punk in Spider-Man Across The Spider-Verse, the sequel to 2018’s Spider-Man Into The Spider-Verse, according to a report from The Hollywood Reporter.

Kaluuya will voice the character of Hobart “Hobie” Brown, a.k.a. Spider-Punk. He originally appeared in 2015 as a creation of writer Dan Slott and artist Olivier Coipel in the Spider-Verse crossover comics.

The film’s cast also includes returning actors Oscar Isaac, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez and Greta Lee, as well as newcomers such as Issa Rae, Rachel Dratch, Joma Taccone, Shea Whigham and Jason Schwartzman.

Across the Spider-Verse is the second of a planned trilogy with a third instalment, Spider-Man Beyond The Spider-Verse, set to be released on 29 March 2024.

Kaluuya is best known for winning the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role Judas And The Black Messiah and was nominated for his breakout performance in Jordan Peel’s Get Out. He also recently starred in Peele’s Nope, which you can check out my review of by heading over here.

Justin K. Thompson, Joaquim Dos Santos and Kemp Powers are directing the Spider-Man Across The Spider-Verse, which is set to premiere on 2 June 2023.
