Genshin Impact Publisher Is Suing Discord To Discover Leaker Identity

Genshin Impact leaks are unfortunately commonplace online and on Discord, which is why the game’s publisher Cognosphere is going after one leaker in particular.

That target is Ubatcha (via TorrentFreak), a renowned leaker who has 465,000 followers on Twitter, a reliable source on Genshin Impact leak subreddits, and also one of the main admins for the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor Discord server, a renowned spot for Genshin Impact leaks and reveals housing 272,000+ members.

Lawyers representing Cognosphere (as HoYoverse/Mihoyo) have filed a DMCA subpoena demanding that Discord provides the real identity of Ubatcha. They are asking Discord to “disclose the identity, including the name(s), address(es), telephone number(s), and email address(es) of the user Ubatcha#2719, who is responsible for posting infringing content”.

This latest legal action came up after a massive Genshin Impact leak happened, revealing up to nine months of updates planned for the game. While Ubatcha disavowed it publicly, Cognosphere is adamant about getting the user’s real identity via the Discord lawsuit.
