Gigabash Godzilla DLC Out Now; Features Four Renowned Kaijus To Go To Town With

[insert sound of nails on chalkboard modified to be an iconic monster roar]

Gigabash’s pretty awesome and monstrous DLC is out right now this December, and it features Godzilla and his pals/fight buddies. The Gigabash Godzilla DLC features four kaijus to the Gigabash universe:

  • Godzilla, an all-rounder with a neat and far-reaching atomic breath special.
  • Gigan, a speedy hit-and-run rushdown combatant. This monster made its debut in 1972 as an alien cyborg kaiju.
  • Mechagodzilla, a ranged fighter. This robot made its debut in 1974.
  • Destoroyah, a heavy-hitter with a neat Super attack involving multiple crabs. This crustacean beast made its debut in 1995 and ended the Heisei reign of Godzilla.

Reenact the final battle of Godzilla vs. Destoroyah or play as your favorite GigaBash character and test your mettle against the OGs of the Tokusatsu genre. Each new character has its own unique abilities and movesets, featuring iconic attacks as seen in the films, along with various easter eggs to invoke your long-lost nostalgia.

As Godzilla, you can unleash its iconic heat ray, incinerating all who stand in your path. As Mechagodzilla, your attacks utilize its unique Weapon Control System, where different attacks consume different types of energy. Diligently manage resources and swiftly annihilate its foes with overwhelming firepower.

That’s not all: Gigabash has also released its massive 1.1 update, which adds in new modes like Onslaught Mode, Arcade Mode, and Mayhem Mode. Check out the list below:

  • Onslaught Mode:
    • Play Solo or with another friend in co-op Couch Play as you battle against endless waves of enemies. Acquire buffs as you progress and break the record for the highest number of waves cleared on the global leaderboard. You will also be rewarded with unique skins only unlockable through this mode as you clear a certain wave number. Can you survive the onslaught?
  • Arcade Mode:
    • Test your mastery of your favorite characters! In this single-player mode, challenge yourself against 8 random Ai-controlled enemies with increasing difficulty and solidify your rank by defeating the Final Boss. Do you have what it takes to beat ‘em all?
  • Mayhem Online:
    • You asked, we delivered! By popular request, players can now enjoy Mayhem mode online via Private Match. Invite your friends and indulge in this wacky collection of minigames together.
  • Cross-Platform Matchmaking & Online mode updates:
    • We have upgraded our Crossplay feature! Now, players from all platforms (PlayStation®4, PlayStation®5, Steam, Epic Games Store) share the same public matchmaking pool via Public Match. However, players will not be able to invite their friends from another platform via Private Match. We’ve also added an Emote Menu in the Online Mode so players can have some fun with GigaBash emojis while they wait for other players to be ready for battle.

If this DLC takes off and puts Gigabash on the pedestal as the de facto multiplayer monster brawler of this current console generation, we may even see some new additions in future DLC. We’re thinking Rodan, Mothra, King Ghidorah, that rock monster from Godzilla 2000, and maybe even King Kong and Zilla! Fingers crossed.
