APAC Teamfight Tactics Asian Cup Kicks Off Later This Week

If you are not familiar with TFT, it is an auto-battler by Riot Games featuring iconic champions from League of Legends. It is a round-based PVP game, in which players draft up a team that battles automatically on your behalf.
So here’s how it generally works: Players will individually face off in 1-on-1 matches until only one player remains. You win by of course drafting up the best team of champions which are from a shared pool. You equip powerful items to your champions and manage your gold income to buy out your competition. As a strategy game, there are unlimited ways to win, so players will have to adapt to different situations in every game.
The Asian Cup 2023 is officially kicking off! The tournament features well known top payers from all across Asia, and is sure to be competitive. Now the tournament boasts a huge prize pool of US$40,000, in which the winner will take home a whopping US$20,000, and of course not forgetting the brag rights to be crowned as the best TFT player in Asia. The Asian Cup kicks off on 3 March 2023, and matches will start at 6pm GMT+9.
The tournament will be divided into 3 days. The top 16 players will progress to the second day, and the top 8 will advance to the big finals. On the first day, the players will be split into groups of 3 and will play 6 rounds each. The groups will be shuffled every 2 games to ensure fair competition. On the second day, the same format will be followed, and then the top 8 will advance to the final day.
On the final day, the Checkmate format will be implemented. Players will compete until the first player to earn 18 points and win a round will be crowned the Asian TFT Champion.
Top players including former Asian Cup and Championship winner “Huanmie” and “XunGe’ hailing from China will be back this Asian Cup to compete alongside, Southeast Asia’s “Khar1ch” and South Korea’s “Vayne”. These players have been consistent in their performances in previous tournaments and will definitely be among the top contenders for the title.
